barbie rug and house decor

alrighty kiddos....today we are having a barbie party! yippee.....
we love barbies.
i played them until i was entirely too old for them...
and my daughters are now turning into little barbie lovers as well!

anyways..i made them a barbie house out of shelf--(you can go HERE to read about it all)

but a month ago we decided to give it a makeover
(sooo much easier than doing your ACTUAL house--i can move a barbie couch)
anyways...first up was the barbie wall....
and I'm over at expressions vinyl showing you my "wallpaper technique"
go ahead and click the link---it will open a new page so you can read both.
double duty.

but we didn't stop there.....
i ran across this doll house HERE
and saw this cute yarn rug........
and i knew my daughter would love to recreate it!!!!
(my daughter did this all...so this is totally a kid craft...)

supplies:
she of course wanted a peace sign....
sketch your design and cut out...

then you just glue and put yarn..glue and yarn. glue and yarn.

we made a few...cause it's addicting!!!!

then we made some frames...same technique...horrible picture. (i so need a new camera...and computer...)
i thought...gallery walls are in...why not in barbieville.
had to add the biebs. (just a sticker) she drew the pictures and what she wanted to display on her "walls"

then i took an old spool...some washi tape and scotch tape...a stick...and the lampshade is empty roll of tape
just some twine and hot glue...

and updated all the pillows (with hot glue and scrap fabric...)

we also took an old watch box and made a crib....

and then we moved to the kitchen where we added strips of black tape---

and here's her bedroom...(she painted the zebra on it herself)
so there you go...some fun little diy barbie accessories that really makes a shelf house a home

 and still...with this cute dollhouse...
she'd rather play on the floor.

  5. Love it, I can't wait until my baby girl is old enough to play Barbies, I love Barbies so much! I had a huge Barbie house and I always played on the floor too, but maybe with this one I would have played in it more, this house has more style than my actual apartment!

  7. I was a big Barbie lover as a kid and so I think I will get to embrace that part of me in a few years when my little girl is big enough to have them.
